2022 Recap

Port Stephens Mayor’s Prayer Dinner for 2022 was an evening to remember, a sold out event!

PORT STEPHENS is “OUR REGION OUR PURPOSE”

Our theme this year was to Honour those in our community who play a significant role in enriching our region with Godly values and integrity. There was a tangible excitement and anticipation in the room as guests arrived for an evening of honouring our Christian Business owners and Sally Dover, who began the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast in Council Chambers, before moving it into the public arena in 2017. Sally now lives in Berry NSW.

A Council brings vision to a community and Mayor Ryan Palmer shared the many projects in this region that would play a significant role in resourcing this region. This impact is not only locally, but as an overseas platform with the new International Airport being established in Williamtown.

Craig Sparrow inspired us, as he spoke about Healing Path to Wellness that has been launched in this region at C3 Spectrum Church at Anna Bay. This is an extension of our other Medical and Healing facilities in this area and it is offered without any charge.

Our Guest Speaker was Simon Hasson, who is currently the CEO of HV Aluminium. He began a Career in Civil Engineering in Port Stephens, and later owning 3 Optus shops in Newcastle for 20 years. These were Kingdom based and raising money for charities. The main points of his message were. “A boat in the water, not water in the boat”. God has called us to share the good news. When Jesus got angry in the Temple, He was angry that the world was influencing the Church rather than the Church influencing the world. When we make God a priority, he does amazing things. He wants to have relationship with all mankind”. Simon testified his business success over the years was constant learning with the inclusion of devotion and prayer dramatically elevating his business to a national leader amongst priers.

St Philips Christian College and Medowie Christian School served and participated brilliantly well. Many local pastors and leaders led prayer and C3 New Life lead us the room in worship beautifully. that raised the roof.

The evening finished with a Prayer of Declaration and Blessing

Prayer of Declaration and Blessing

Our Father in heaven, this evening, in unity we lift up the name of Jesus. At your name every knee will bow. We welcome Your presence and Your perfect peace  into the hearts and minds of every person present.

This evening we pray for our region and its future. We confess our need of You. We believe in You.

In your powerful name we declare Your Blessings over the people of this region and its people.

Blessings of Hope and Life.

Blessings of Healing and Wholeness.

Blessings of Strength and Courage

Blessings of Faith and Salvation

We ask for the Holy Spirit to awaken the hearts of men and women, young and old. We ask that you show Yourself  with signs and wonders and miracles.

Lord we ask for the unearthing of creativity. We pray for the entrepreneurs and pioneers to arise with confidence. We ask for the birthing of new ideas that would lead to resourcing this region and her people. Every good thing You bring forth we want to release it to other regions.

Jesus, You are our hope and in You there is a future. Awaken us to the purposes of heaven. Lord touch us with Your presence today, to empower us for our tomorrow. Lord be glorified through our lives and throughout our region and into our future.

This we pray in the name of Jesus.

History

Sally Dover began the  Mayor's Prayer Breakfast in Port Stephens in 2012 when she was a Port Stephen's Councillor. It was held in Council Chambers with local Pastors and Leaders meeting to pray for the Mayor, Councillors and to honour Leaders who had served Port Stephens for significant years.

In 2017 it was decided to bring this event into the public arena for all who had a passion to pray and release a blessing over civil authorities, businesses, volunteer groups and community. The breakfast was held in the Nelson Bay Bowling Club with 120 people attending.

In 2018 the breakfast moves to Wests Nelson Bay with 180 attending. Pastor Rick Prosser spoke on the them 'Better Together'. The event was hosted again in 2019 as a breakfast. After a pause due to the pandemic we look forward to gathering in person in 2022. We hope that you can join us.
